1. Our Celebrate Recovery has gone through a number of changes over the past year, and it has now relaunched as The Olive Branch! Their first session was on Tuesday and it went great! Our leaders are excited about this new format, and there is great symbolism in inviting others to come to the olive branch each week, as the olive branch represents an offer of peace and the ending of a flood. 2. Because we do our Seniors Lunches we need to license our kitchen, which is a little cumbersome, but Pastor Brad and our ministry leaders have grabbed that bull by the horns are getting 'er wras'led to the ground! 3. People are coming to us asking to be discipled in the way of Jesus! We aren't coaxing them or pressuring them to do this. They are coming to us seeking more of God! |
Worth Being WithSacrifices of the Old Testament - Sunday, September 15, 2024 Are you using sacrifices and self-punishment to get something from God or to make up for some failure? Does that work? Is our relationship with God really that transactional? The Fellowship Offering described in Leviticus makes a clear contrast to that kind of thinking. God makes us clean. He wants us to be with Him, not just get something FROM Him. You were made clean to be WITH God.
