Vision
I want to highlight two things beyond all the other things we have listed in this newsletter. First is that we have our Annual Business Meeting for the church happening on May 15th at 7pm, and I encourage you all to attend to find out how we spend our money, what has happened in ministry over the past year and where we are headed next. Secondly, our annual Big Give is getting bigger. We are partnering with Inspire FM (used to be Harvesters in Moncton) and other businesses around Amherst to express Extravagant Radical Generosity. We have our space, plus we have secured the field and gym of West Highlands School. We already have donors wanting to cover the food cost for the BBQ, we have a bouncy castle booked and Emerson Packaging is speaking to their employees about donating items and volunteering at the event. That is just the beginning. Over the next few weeks, we will be leaning even more into engaging our community to be generous at Amherst's Big Give. We need your donations of goods, and we need you to sign up to volunteer. We want to give with no strings attached. This isn't a marketing campaign. This isn't a way to get donations in return. This is about giving because we love the people of this community and we want them to be cared for, feel cared about, and feel wanted. We will do that by meeting physical needs, blessing with gifts, and providing opportunities for families to have fun together without having to worry about how they will buy groceries after having a fun day out. It's gonna be a Big Give. |
Wins
1. Our teams are naturally seeking to get better and better, not just content to just do things, they want to have bigger impacts on our world for Christ. 2. Others are asking, "How can I hear from God better?" 3. The Work Day that happened on Saturday was a huge success, with a pile of volunteers working together and on separate projects, we got a lot done! |
Bad HabitsTime to Quit? - Sunday, May 5, 2024 We all have bad habits and we all know they are bad habits, yet we keep doing them. These habits give us something and we keep using them until the cost of them becomes greater than the cost of changing them. Whether it is about what we eat, how we behave, our coping mechanisms, how we spend our money, or anything else. We need Jesus to fill the need that the habit is filling and make a change because those bad habits usually aren't worth it. Matthew 5:30 Bad habits aren't worth the cost. For more infomation visit:
