Vision
Well, it seems we are in the Online Only realm for the month of May. After a year of restrictions and separation, this whole thing has gotten really old. I'm tired of it, I’m tired of the stress and loss and constant barriers. I'm tired of the pain and the continuous disappointment. But, this is where God has put us for such a time as this. It is easy to simply become the victim and begin lashing out in anger and pain, focusing on how this negatively affects us. But we are not a people who exist for our own kingdom or dreams or desires. We are here as servants of the King of Kings. We are here as ambassadors for true peace. We are here to stand in the gap and fight for those no one else is fighting for. We are here to be living expressions of hope and love and faith. This stinks bad. Yep. But don't let that distract you from your mission. And make no mistake, we are absolutely on a mission. We are right here, right now for a reason. King Jesus has placed you here to represent His Kingdom, to take ground for His Kingdom, to save lives for His Kingdom, to change the world for His Kingdom, to see His Kingdom come and His will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven. Honour our earthly authorities and governments, even as they are imperfect, do your part, and fight for the lost. Fight for those who are sick. Fight for those who are vulnerable. Fight for those who have lost people to this virus and all it has caused. Don't rebel against the our government. Rebel against selfishness. I’m not saying, just sit there and be idle. I’m saying, use this moment to let the Kingdom of God invade our world. Call your neighbours. Message your friends. Share your hope with others. Go for walks. Check in on those around. Show them you remember them, you care about them, you love them, and that the hope of Jesus can’t be stopped by ANYTHING! We will get through this. Sprint to the end. Sprint to the end. Just a little while longer. Sprint to the end. |
Wins
1. People are really engaging with our new sermon series on Mental Health! 2. Our team is putting together some really great content for Sundays Online. 3. We ran into an issue with our camera; it stopped charging! But we were able to quickly find another solution and get back to work without any delay, thanks to our connection with Westchester Wesleyan Church! |

The Struggle is RealMental Health Checkup - Sunday, May 2, 2021 1 Kings 19:1-9 (Matthew 11:28, Philippians 4:6-7, 1 Peter 5:7) It can be hard struggling with our personal mental health, or the mental health of those around us. Is it just "all in our heads," do we just need to "try harder?" And, what does God think about all this? When we look in the Bible we see that it is obvious God acknowledges these struggles and cares about them. For more infomation visit: http://amherstwesleyan.com/media/2021-05-02-the-struggle-is-real

At AWC
Online Services Only We are doing only Online Services for May 2 & 9, due to the present COVID restrictions in NS. No on-site services until restrictions change. We hope you can join us online at 10:30am this Sunday! Senior Volunteers Our May Seniors events have been cancelled. We hope to launch events when COVID cases decrease. Sharon Taylor has stepped up to lead the effort to minister to and reach the seniors of our community, and she is hard at work developing ideas, putting events together and recruiting a team of leaders! We still need lots of volunteers though, especially to run events. We need all sorts of volunteers to serve in lots of different ways. If you're willing to serve, reach out to Sharon at 902-669-1330 (Mobile) and let her know! |
