Peter was writing his letter to the church as a final statement. He wanted to make sure they remembered the most essential things and that they were encouraged to continue. He uses this moment to make it clear to the church not to get lazy, not to give up, not to fail, but to hold confidently to Jesus and keep growing.
To keep making a difference, we need to keep getting better.
