This year my wife and I celebrate 10 years of marriage! So, here are 10 lessons we have learned over out 10 years of marriage.
Lesson 1: The best way to lead your kids is to love your spouse. (Colossians 3:19)
Lesson 2: You need to fight with yourself to acknowledge YOUR part of the problem. (1 Peter 3:1-7; James 4:7)
Lesson 3: If you need to schedule it, schedule it, just make sure it happens. (1 Cor 7:5; Proverbs 24:27)
Lesson 4: Don’t assume you know the answer to questions, you have to ask and listen. (James 1:19; Proverbs 25:7b-8)
Lesson 5: Fight and learn how to fight good. (Hebrews 12:14-15; Eph 4:25-26)
Lesson 6: Not every day, week, month or year is going to be good, and that’s ok. (Ecclesiastes 3:1)
Lesson 7: Get help. (Proverbs 15:22)
Lesson 8: Don’t expect your spouse to read your mind; they can’t. (Hebrews 4:12; Proverbs 21:23; Proverbs 25:2-3)
Lesson 9: Even if you’re a little bit wrong, apologize. (James 5:16; Proverbs 28:13)
Lesson 10: Say thank you. (Romans 12:10; John 13:34-35; Eph 5:33)
