I think there are two key things we need to pay attention to in this next season of our church: How we organize and how we as individuals live. Especially with Amherst and Truro working together and walking through growth and changes we need to make sure that God is leading the change. Creating alignment, structure and recuiting the right leaders is essential to how we are able to move ahead. Probably just as equal to all that is what we as individuals do. We aren't interested in just creating a consumer type Christianity that entertains people or provides goods and services. We want to create a community of transformation where individuals are making connections, sharing their faith, and leading people to Jesus. What we do as an organization is create opportunities for those interactions to happen; it's up to us as individuals to use those opportunities. Watch for what God is leading you to say and do that helps people follow Jesus.

1.  AWC - Two more baptisms last Sunday!

2.  Connection - A teen got baptized on Sunday!

3. AWC - I got a message from a member who heard someone new to the church say on Sunday, "he always explains everything out very plainly for everyone to understand."

4. Connection - I had a meeing with the board last night and one of the members shared a passage from Romans about hope because they are feeling more hopeful lately about what is happening at Connection!

When was the last time you felt like you had freedom in your life? I'm guessing you spend a lot of time feeling like someone else is manipulating or controlling your life. You just react to whatever someone else is doing, or have to chase whatever desire or craving you have. You feel trapped and like someone else is just dragging you around. And the crazy part is that the more you try to take your life back, the more enslaved you become. There is a way to change that though.

Matthew 16:25

The only way to get your life back is to give it to Jesus.

Tuesdays at 7pm

Join us as we develop the practice of prayer.

Learn how to hear God better.

Learn how to pray more effectively.

Spend time in silence, at the altar, or with a group praying.

Special focus will be given on the last Tuesday of each month to Missions and our Global Partners.

Come learn English and about life in Canada. This is open to everyone. Participants may be asked to cover the cost of workbooks, but if for some reason you are unable to cover that cost, you can still participate. We want to make this course available to everyone regardless of their economic situation.

Open to all who are interested. Discover practical leadership principles to apply to your context. Free coffee and snacks provided!

Starts at 9am!

Join us as the Church comes together as ONE with other congregations from across our region in prayer for 12 uninterrupted hours. 

AWC on October 18th, 2025

A night of worship. Songs, Prayer, and creative elements will be used to set aside time to simply focus on God and give Him glory.

Join us at the West Highlands Elementary Gymnasium for games and lessons designed to help kids grow in their confidence and character development. 

For kids in Grades Primary to 6

5:45 - 6:45 pm

We will be starting to collect candy and looking for volunteers for this year's Trunk or Treat happening on Oct 25th!

Konnect the Tots is a playgroup for parents and kids that takes place every Thursday from 9:30-11:30 at Amherst Wesleyan Church (6 Maltby Ct). There are toys and activities set up in the basement of the church for kids to play with! Everyone is welcome! (Enter through the parking lot side door!)

When we update and properly maintain our facility it allows us to do more ministry longer.
