We won't be doing weekly newsletters over the summer, although there will be the occasional email sent out about upcoming events or necessary information.

Remember that Pastor Brad is on paternal leave until August 18th.

Also, as I take on leadership of Connection Church (Truro), I will be splitting my time between Truro and Amherst.  Until the Campus Pastor starts in Truro I will need to be present in Truro a bit more.

What that looks like for the summer is that I will be preaching some Sundays in Amherst and some in Truro. There will be a few guest speakers in Truro and in Amherst. There are also a couple Sundays where I will be preaching in Truro and live-streaming my preaching to the church in Amherst. We have it worked out that the live-streaming should only need to happen twice! It also means that I will be spending a day or two in Truro each week so that I can help get things moving.

This is all done because we believe that God wants to do something incredible in Amherst and Truro, but at this stage Truro needs a bit more attention to get things on the right track. Amherst has the margin to be able to make some sacrifices to support our sister church. It's all part of the mission God has given us!

Finally, I will be on vacation July 2-5, and then I will be at Beulah Camp July 6-12 (but I will be back preaching on July 13th!).

1. We have officially found a Campus Pastor for Truro Connection Church! Announcement coming this Sunday.

2. We had a great meeting on Tuesday where we talked about our testimonies (our experience with Jesus) and we were able to encourage someone to immediately put their experience into action.

3. I am seeing leaders in our church committed to getting others involved in ministry and service, refusing to just do all the work themselves! We all have a part to play, and they believe in you!

There are no shortages of threats to your family. Whether it is a schedule that is simply too busy, online content that leads to cheating and affairs, peer pressure at school, overstimulation, the pursuit of money, gossip, and even sports.  How are you supposed to know what to allow in your family and what you should get rid of? And are those things really worth getting rid of? Well, I think we need to be more ruthless in our protection of our family, because these things aren't just distractions, they can actually be attacks!

If something opposes love, honour, respect or patience in your family, it's actually attaching your family.

Membership Class

If you'd like to know what the Wesleyan Church believes and are wondering how to become an official voting member of the church, this class is for you.

You don't need to be a member to attend or even serve at AWC.

Voting on church decisions and taking on certain leadership roles in the church do require you to be an official member. This helps to ensure that we as a church are maintaining our core values and beliefs.

We will be participating in the Canada Day Celebration in Downtown Amherst this year!

It will take place 1pm-3pm on July 1st.

Caton's Island is a Summer Camp in Brown's Flat NB run by the Wesleyan Church. Have you thought about sending your kids to camp?

Beulah Family Camp is held annually in early July. The high calibre speakers, fine singers, and interesting events planned for the whole family continue to be a drawing card. Beulah offers children’s programming, a teen schedule, Bible teaching, praise and worship music, special concerts and events like “Super Saturday” and “Evening-on-the Boulevard,” and a full schedule of daily activities for the whole family to enjoy. There is something for everyone during the 10 days of camp!

The beautiful Saint John River flows past the shores of Beulah Camp. Many summer activities are possible on-site, with numerous options of interesting things to do in the southern New Brunswick area readily available. Don’t let the summer go by without taking in Beulah. If you’re not one of the hundreds of people who come to Beulah each year – we’d like you to be! We’ll be looking for you!

Family camp is Friday July 4 to Sunday, July 13 2025. The Official Opening of Beulah 2025 will be Saturday, July 5 with Super Saturday.

You are also invited to join us for our Family Camp Night for the whole family! This happens Friday August 22nd from 6:00-8:30pm1

Join us as the Church comes together as ONE with other congregations from across our region in prayer for 12 uninterrupted hours.
