Visionby Pastor Evan Earlier this week another pastor sent me this quote from Sam Gibson, “Prayer is about controlling the airspace.” It immediately brought to mind the image of war with ground troops and tanks either being protected or decimated by the aircraft above them. We're here serving as the hands and feet of Jesus, trying to make wise decisions and standing against the darkness and if we don't have air support, we are going to be torn apart. If we are not covering our families, our ministries, our jobs, our lives in prayer, we are allowing the enemy to come at us with all the advantage. We need to be calling in air support. We need the light controlling the airspace. As we hold our first ever Pumpkin Crawl tomorrow, and Truro holds their Trunk-or-Treat, let's not let the enemy control the airspace. Please join with us in praying for God to move and push back the darkness. Let's not only move forward on the ground, let's ask God to control the airspace too. |
Wins
Amherst Wesleyan: 1. Evan and Brad were able to preach despite being sick; we have a great team of volunteers on our worship and tech team who are able to step into the gap with short notice when these things happen. 2. Men’s breakfast was great and completely led by volunteers; the pastors had nothing to do with it! 3. Incredible engagement from our people in preparing for the Pumpkin Crawl! Connection Church: 1. Recover launch went super well! 2. A couple guys from our church have been very helpful in taking a look at our car, even being so willing to come to the church the morning right after I asked him, went to the store to buy something to help, spent an hour or so in the cold… so servant-hearted! 3. Thanks to the Lord for speaking to some kindhearted and generous people in our church! Austin & Emma are now fully funded to go to Pennsylvania for Christmas. Austin hasn’t seen his family in almost two years! We are full of gratitude for the Lord answering prayers through others. 4. People are asking how they can pray for pastors… THANK YOU 5. Lots of candy donations for trunk or treat have come in! |

Pumpkin CrawlSaturday, October 31, 2026 We're doing something new this Oct 31st!
Still Free. Still Family Friendly. More Activities! More Fun! More Pumpkins!
After about 10 years of doing Trunk-or-Treat we are doing something new. The Pumpkin Crawl brings more of a carnival feel than a line-up for candy. Families won't need to stand in a massive line this year, instead they can wander from activity to activity, take in a special skit and presentation indoors, listen to the live band, check out all the decorated and carved pumpkins and get a few treats too. Costumes are welcome, but not required!
There is something really special about pumpkins in October, other than the fact they make incredible pie, and cookies, and lattes, and cheesecake! Every year we dig out the nasty goo inside them and replace it with light that cuts through the darkness. That's what we want to do with The Pumpkin Crawl! When the world seems to be getting darker and more negative, we want to spread some light!
All are welcome at our first ever Pumpkin Crawl, Saturday Oct 31st, 2-4pm!
